Karen Williams is a Licensed Massage Therapist and a graduate of the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy (CCMT). She has long believed in the power of healing one’s body through holistic modalities such as massage, and is honored to have the opportunity to assist others in this process. CCMT provided her with a great education in all of the essential sciences including: Anatomy and Physiology, Pathology, and Kinesiology. Practical hands-on education consisted of Acupressure, Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, and Sports Massage.
Karen has a passion for cooking and nutrition, and her young adulthood career began as a chef upon graduating from the Connecticut Culinary Institute. After many years of working in restaurants, she had the opportunity to start a food business selling health-foods to the Willimantic Food Co-op while supporting organic and local farmers. Karen then chose to become a Licensed Massage Therapist so she could continue to help others.
Karen is thrilled to be a part of Tao Vitality, and looks forward to working with those who can benefit from the art of massage. Massage sessions can assist to alleviate chronic pain and muscle soreness, increase range-of-motion, or simply decrease stress in the individual. Massage modalities that Karen focuses on are Swedish, Deep Tissue, Myofascial, Trigger Point and On-site Chair Massage. Karen carefully listens to the needs of her clients, and will work with their concerns and comfort in mind.
Karen is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) as well as the Connecticut Chapter Sports Massage Team, volunteering at athletic events. In her free time, Karen enjoys running, whether it be a 5k, around the block, or training for the occasional marathon. Karen still spends plenty of time in the kitchen whipping up comforting soups, healthy desserts and homemade kombucha.
