Barbara has worked as a mental health counselor in Connecticut for the past 10 years in a number of settings. She has experience working in school-based health centers, outpatient treatment, intensive in-home services, therapeutic group homes, and residential treatment centers. She has primarily worked with adolescents and young adults experiencing depression, anxiety, grief and loss, interpersonal issues, trauma, and family issues.
She works with each client with compassion and unconditional positive regard. The issues people face are unique to each individual and she recognizes that there is not a "one size fits all" therapeutic approach. Therefore a client's treatment is individualized to meet their needs.
Therapeutic approaches may include EMDR, attachment-based, person-centered, strengths-based, solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral, and mindfulness.
She looks forward to hearing your story, guiding you towards personal growth, and helping you to overcome your personal challenges.
